Now Hiring - Commission Sales Associate in Burlington, NC

Pay: The base hourly rate is $15.00 an hour initially. You can, however, make much more. We have a commission scale used for the Sales Floor colleagues. Finalized sales are figured monthly. If you sell enough to make commissions worth more than $15.00 an hour, you will get the higher pay. (Example: If you sell and finalize approximately $30,000 in furniture per 2 week pay period, you would make around $1375 in commission for those 2 weeks OR $15.00 pay x 80 hours work= $1200 for those same 2 weeks. You would be paid commission because it is higher than the base pay offered. You may also earn a 10% commission on all Furniture care protection plans sold. The base pay rate lasts for 6 months and then the position goes commission only.

Description – Sells furniture and bedding to established and new customers. Greets the customer and provides assistance in the purchase process. Actively looks for ways to assist the customer. Makes effective presentations and skillfully answers questions and objections. Uses active listening to learn the needs and motives of the customer. Suggests furniture size, period style, color, fabric, and wood that will complement customer's home and other furnishings. Discusses quality of fabric and finish, and type and quality of construction with customer.

Enters the sales order into the computer and ensures that the customer completes the transaction with the Cashier. Arranges delivery, insurance, financing or service contracts for the merchandise. May resolve customer complaints regarding delivery of damaged or incorrect merchandise.

Continuously improves the product knowledge through reading, study and attendance of vendor training sessions. Continuously improves sales skills through reading, study and attendance of sales training programs.

Supervision – Reports to the Store Manager.

Education – High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience – One to three years of sales experience.

Equipment – Calculator, computer and specialized software.

Working Conditions – The job is indoors in a heated and air-conditioned environment. Requires a significant amount of standing, walking and talking.
